Australia-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement Negotiations
Public submissions to the Australian Scoping Study into an Australia-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement
On 19 August 2004, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade invited public submissions and comment on issues relevant to a potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and Malaysia.
Sixty submissions were received from industry, professional and non-government bodies, companies, unions and individuals. Many came from peak industry and business organisations, representing the full range of agriculture, services and manufacturing industry sectors. Some organisations have provided permission for their submissions to be published or listed on the Department's website, and these appear below.
Following the launch of Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement negotiations in 2005, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade issued an ongoing call for submissions. Approximately fifty-five submissions have been received, and some of these are publicly available. » Public submissions to the Australia-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement negotiations
