Australia-China Free Trade Agreement negotiations

Nineteenth round of negotiations

June 2013

The 19th round of Australia-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations was held in Beijing on 4-6 June 2013.

The full range of chapters was discussed.  Good progress was made on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS), Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), and Trade in Services chapters.  Constructive discussions were also held on Trade in Goods, Rules of Origin, Customs Procedures, Investment, Dispute Settlement chapters and other issues.

With strong commercial interests on both sides across a broad range of sectors, negotiators continued to define the scope of market access opportunities to be included in the agreement.

We would be pleased to receive any updated submissions from industry or interested stakeholders.
