The AusAID Workplace Diversity program achieved these key goals during the review period:

  • launching AusAID’s Workplace Diversity Program 1997- 2000. The program is consistent with the Public Service Commissioner’s Guidelines on Managing Workplace Diversity
  • training all available Workplace Diversity Contact Officers to explain the implications of new government reforms in this area
  • offering three scholarships to Aboriginal people to fund their final year of tertiary study during 1998
  • increasing the participation rate of women in senior officer ranks from 34 per cent to 37 per cent
  • increasing the overall participation rate of women from 47.9 per cent to 49.4 per cent.
