Asia-Pacific television service—Australia Network

Australia Network is meeting key performance indicators for programming and distribution arrangements.
Quantity information
Australia Network has a measured monthly audience of seven million, is reaching 44 countries and has rebroadcasting arrangements with approximately 450 rebroadcasters throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Three separate signals are being transmitted to accommodate viewers in different time zones. In the final quarter of 2007–08, Australia Network consistently out-rated both BBC World and CNN International in the six key Indian metropolitan markets—Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gujarat and New Delhi. Throughout the rest of Asia, Australia Network generally rates in the top 25 satellite/cable channels (the number of available channels varies between 60 and 200 in individual markets).

Based on 13 design options submitted, five of which were short-listed, an amount of $1.5 million was allocated for phase one of the project for the winning tenderer to prepare and cost three design options. These options formed the basis of our proposal for funding for phase two of the project.
