Syd Giller

Mr Giller is the immediate-past National Chairman of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (AACCI).
Mr Giller has participated for more than 25 years in business with Arab countries, both as an exporter and a resident in the region. He was posted to Bahrain in 1986 as Regional Director of a multinational food group and in this role until 1989 developed a thorough knowledge of the region, its peoples and business. In 1989 Mr Giller established Austanz International Pty Ltd, with the purpose of exporting Australian products to the Middle East and Japan. Austanz International now represents a number of Australian companies, and has created its own brands for food and beverage products.
Mr Giller has led a number of business missions to the Middle East, and in recent years led Australian business delegations for the Trade Committee of the Australia-United Arab Emirates Joint Ministerial Consultations and the Australia-Saudi Arabia Joint Ministerial Consultations.
Mr Giller was appointed an Adjunct Professor at Deakin University in 2007.
Mr Giller has been a member of CAAR since its establishment in 2003.
