Syd Giller
Mr Giller is the National Chairman of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (AACCI). His participation in business with Arab countries is more than 25 years, both as an exporter and a resident in the Region. Mr Giller was posted to Bahrain in 1986 as Regional Director of a multinational food group and in this role until 1989 especially developed a thorough knowledge of the region, its peoples and business. In 1989 Mr Giller established Austanz International Pty Ltd, with the purpose of exporting Australian products to the Middle East and Japan. Austanz International now represents a number of Australian companies, and has created its own brands for food and beverage products. He has led a number of business missions to the Middle East, and has chaired the Australian Delegation for the Trade Committee of the Australia-United Arab Emirates Joint Ministerial Consultations and the Australia-Saudi Arabia Joint Ministerial Consultations. Mr Giller is also an Adjunct Professor at Deakin University.
