Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where can I find out more about the criteria for grants from the Australia-Thailand Institute?

See Funding guidelines.

2. How much funding can an applicant seek?

In our two previous funding rounds the level of grants awarded has varied, with each application being considered on its merits. If your project requires a large amount of funding, you may wish to consider seeking ATI funding for a discrete component of your project.

3. Is there a time limit on the completion of a project?

A project should be completed within a year of the grant being awarded. If the project is planned over more than one year, consideration should be given to seeking funding for a specific component that can be carried out within a single year.

4. Does the Institute award scholarships?

No.

5. Where can I find the applications forms for the Australia-Thailand Institute’s grants?

6. Does the Institute mind if I ask other organisations for funding as well?

The Institute encourages applicants to consider obtaining funding from other sources as well as the ATI. External funding, while not a prerequisite, can strengthen the applicant’s case for ATI funding.

7. Will the Institute only consider projects from educational institutions?

No. The Institute encourages applications from any individual or organisation wishing to develop a project intended to build people-to-people links between Australia and Thailand.
