Inviting applications for project funding
The Australia Indonesia Institute in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade invites applicants to submit project proposals designed to contribute to a more broadly based and enduring relationship between Australia and Indonesia and to project a positive image of Australia in Indonesia.
The Institute supports programs to enhance relations between our two countries in the following areas: education; interfaith; youth; arts and culture; civil society; media; and Australian studies. Prospective applicants should note that the annual level of grant funding in the various areas will vary, depending on the priorities of the Institute and the quality of applications.
Proposals for project funding must be submitted using the Application for Grant Funding form available on the website. Further information about the Institute's objectives, programs and guidelines for funding can be viewed online or obtained from the Director on (02) 6261 3827.
Australian residents should forward their grant applications to the following email address: ausindonesia.institute@dfat.gov.au or send a hard copy by post to:

Please note that applications for funding may be submitted at any time throughout the year, but would normally be considered by the Board at its regular meetings. The AII Board usually meets three times a year, in March, August and November (to be confirmed). Bearing in mind the Board’s meeting schedule, applicants should therefore ensure that there is sufficient time for the Board to consider their application for funding before the commencement of any proposed activity (i.e. at least two full months).
The next Board Meeting of the Australia-Indonesia Institute will be held on 19 February 2009. Applications have now closed for funding of grants to be considered at that meeting.
