AIC Travel Support - IASA Conference, GOA, JAnuary 2010
The Indian Association for the Study of Australia (IASA) will hold its Fifth Biennial International Conference at Goa University from the 18th-21st January, 2010 in Goa, India. It will be entitled: "India and Australia: Negotiating Change".
The Australia-India Council will be proudly supporting the Conference, and is also inviting applications from Australia-based Australian Studies experts from all disciplines who wish to travel to Goa to present and participate.
There will be five travel grants offered in the amount of $3,000 each. This will be the limit of financial support provided, and no further AIC support for Australian attendance at the IASA conference will be available.
To ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to apply, applications for the IASA Conference Travel Grants will be considered as a separate category of applications at the next AIC Board Meeting.
Applicants should complete the standard grant application form (pdf) (word) and ensure their applications are received by COB 3 August 2009. Please ensure that your project is entitled "IASA Conference Travel Grant –- [Name ]".
The criteria that the AIC Board will emphasise in their selection processes will be:
- the record of achievement of the applicant in their field;
- evidence of existing networks in India;
- the applicantʼs ability to generate future independent activity as a result of attendance at the conference.
Input from the organisers of the IASA Conference will also be a factor in the selection of the successful applicants.
