Masterworks from the Warburton Collection tour China
The Australia-China Council (ACC) is proud to support the 土地-身体 Tu Di – Shen Ti / Our Land, Our Body exhibition opening at the Wuhan Art Museum from 6 December to 3 January 2012.
The 65 master works of the Warburton Acrylic Collection is the largest exhibition of indigenous art ever to tour China.
This will be the final chance to see the exhibit following a tour to seven major museums across China.
It has been one of the key events for the Year of Australian Culture in China by Imagine Australia in 2011.
The exhibition had a successful debut at the prestigious Shanghai Art Museum, where some 85,000 visitors viewed the works, and has travelled to Nanjing City Museum, the Today Art Museum in Beijing, Zhejiang Museum-West Lake Gallery in Hangzhou, the Xi’An Art Museum and the Guancheng Art Museum in Ding Guan.
The exhibition is produced by the Warburton Arts Project with major touring partner Rio Tinto and is a Warburton Ranges Community initiative.
