Mr Graeme Meehan

Biography
Mr Meehan has been Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Beijing since June 2008.
A senior career officer, Mr Meehan joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1990. He has previously served as First Secretary, then Counsellor, at the Embassy in Beijing (1998-2001) and has worked twice at the Australian Commerce and Industry Office in Taipei (2002-2004 and 1993-1995).
In Canberra, Mr Meehan has worked in a range of positions, including – in 2005 – as Senior Adviser, Asia, in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Most recently, he was deputy head of the China Free Trade Agreement Task Force for the three years prior to his posting to Beijing.
Mr Meehan has a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours from Melbourne University.
