The AII was established by the Australian Government in 1989 to contribute to a more broadly based and enduring relationship between Australia and Indonesia and to project positive images of Australia and Indonesia in each other's country.

Applications for the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) 2009-2010 have now closed.

Grant Applications

The next Board Meeting of the Australia-Indonesia Institute will be held on 30 November 2009, at which time the Board will consider applications for grant funding. Applications for this meeting must be received by the Secretariat by Close of Business 23 October 2009. Please note that all parts of the application (including a detailed budget and two references) must be received by that date.  Late applications will not be considered.

Applicants from Indonesia must submit their applications through the Cultural Office at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta:
