Expression of Interest 2012-2013 – now closed
We thank all applicants for 2012-2013 grants for your interest in the Australia-China Council's Grant Program. The outcomes of the Expressions of Interest stage of the 2012-13 grant round will be announced in May.
It is important to read the following points before you complete an Expression of Interest:
- Eligibility requirements and activities the Council does not fund
- Guidelines for grants and assessment criteria
- If eligible to apply, read the relevant funding agreement
- If willing to comply with the funding agreement and your project proposal is in line with the Council’s goals, lodge an Expression of Interest form by the due date.
In 2012-2013 preference will be given to projects under the broad themes of:
- 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Australia and China
- Education and Science
- Economics and Trade
- Culture and Society
Some examples of the initiatives and projects the Council will consider funding:
- Intercultural communication and cultural awareness, including educational initiatives that aim to develop Australian capacity to effectively engage with China,
- Leadership Development and Exchanges
- Media exchanges
- Economics and trade projects that build long-term economic links and/or increase understanding of Australia-China economic engagement
- Science collaborations, particularly in the areas of sustainability, energy, food security, public health and climate change.
- Projects that build understanding of Australian arts and cultural heritage in China and Chinese culture and arts in Australia
Your Expression of Interest must be submitted using the online application form accessed through the website on the date the grant round opens. There will be word limits which must be adhered to.

Late Expressions of Interest will not be accepted.
